Case Study about the usage of multijoints, rigid bodies and high viscosity fluids in realflow.
Inspired by a commercial of Magnum Temptation i decided to create something similar with „exploding“ pralines. All simulations were done in Realflow 2012 in junction with 3dsmax and Vray. | |
The idea was to use the pressure of emitted particles to break up the shell of the bonbons and let the fragments interact with the particles behaviour.For this challenge i used multijoints that should break if a certain maximum force was reached. Here you can find a tutorial about multijoints. | |
Realflow offers some nice features to effectuate this. I used a constant limit and some random max force to break just a few parts of the fragments. | |
The final animation was made with overall four simulations, which you can see in the previews attached. (Simulations done with 100fps) |
After that everything was imported into 3dsmax (2013). In some sequences i just copied the animation and shifted the initial state. | |
For rendering i used Vray with default vray-materials and a vray-physical-camera to get some nice depth of field. Rendertime varied between 10 and 45 minuten for one frame. | |
